Last week JKP exhibited at the World Congress of Music Therapy at Sookmyung Women’s University in Seoul, South Korea. This conference takes place every three years and is a key event in the international music therapy calendar. We were thrilled to see so many of our authors not only in attendance, but presenting papers, workshops and seminars.

Over 1600 music therapists and students attended the congress and we were delighted to meet so many new and seasoned JKP readers at the stand. We held three sell-out book signings where delegates met authors face-to-face, chatted about the books, and took away a great memento of the congress!

Felicity Baker and Sylka Uhlig launched their brand new book Voicework in Music Therapy, and were joined by contributors Hanne Mette Ridder and Satomi Kondo.

Eric Miller’s new book Bio-Guided Music Therapy was also a big hit, as was his improv session on the mandolin with the percussion stand next door!

And, as always, Katrina McFerran’s signing of her 2010 book Adolescents, Music and Music Therapy proved very popular.

The World Federation of Music Therapy and the Korean Music Therapy Association were excellent hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed the displays of traditional Korean music and dance performed during the opening ceremony and throughout the event.

Thank you very much to our authors, the congress organizers and everyone who stopped by our stand. We look forward to seeing you again in 2014!
