Dr Paul Taylor is an experienced consultant paediatrician working in a regional general hospital in New Zealand. He specializes in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), working directly with many young people with ASD, their families and their schools, and has been giving talks on ASD for the past 12 years.
Dr Taylor is author of the new book, A Beginner’s Guide to Autism Spectrum Disorders: Essential Information for Parents and Professionals.
In this video, he discusses how became interested in working with young people with ASD, particularly those with what are perceived to be behavioural problems, and a personal experience that motivated him to produce this helpful guide for children and families who have recently received a diagnosis of ASD.
