Healthy Mindsets for Super Kids, A Resilience Programme for Children Aged 7-14 by Stephanie Azri is designed to help children deal with issues such as anger, anxiety and grief.
The programme sees children join forces with superheroes Steemy, Link, Zen, Kipkool, Beau and Angel throughout its 10 sessions. Each session deals with an individual theme and includes discussions, exercises and creative activities. The adaptable activities can be enjoyed by children in groups of up to 10 participants.
This download follows the theme of positive thinking and positive self talk. Positive self talk has the potential to make individuals happier by changing their thoughts about themselves and their interpretations of events.
The first activity explores the children’s understanding of why we may feel angry or sad and includes discussion points as an extension activity. The second worksheet encourages the children to develop and verbalise a positive self view following the example of superhero Optimus.
